Sudha is a connector, story-teller, organizer, community builder, and campaigner working at the intersection of environmental, racial, and social justice issues. Grist Magazine recently honored Sudha as one of “50 innovators, organizers, and visionaries who will lead us toward a more sustainable future.” http://grist.org/grist-50/profile/sudha-nandagopal/  Sudha is the program manager for the Equity and Environment Initiative of Seattle’s Office of Sustainability and Environment. Through her career in communications and community campaigns, and her board leadership for movement-building organizations such as OneAmerica, Sudha has developed an expertise in engagement and policy that builds power and moves people to action with a particular focus on communities of color, immigrants, refugees, and individuals with limited-English proficiency. Sudha also serves as the Board President of OneAmerica Votes, an organization focused on building power with and for immigrant communities. Sudha came to OSE after serving as a strategic advisor in Seattle Public Utilities' Environmental Justice and Service Equity Division. Prior to city government, Sudha held leadership roles in organizations including Service Employees International Union Local 925 and Washington Conservation Voters. She led major campaign communication efforts, developed coalition partnerships, trained member spokespeople, and played a strategic role in advancing racial equity in the progressive movement.
