City Inspired
James Keblas is a consultant to government and organizations looking for the cultural and economic benefits of developing a more creative community. His passion for solving problems with creativity is reflected in his blog and podcast called City Inspired, where he hopes to help leaders get good ideas. James sharpened his entrepreneurial skills while running an ad agency called Creature. He served for nine years as the Director of the City of Seattle’s Office of Film + Music, where he developed strategies and policies that contributed to the growth of city’s creative economy.  He got his start in the music business working in hip hop at NastyMix Records and later organizing concerts at a legendary music venue called the Velvet Elvis Arts Lounge.  His greatest professional achievement will always be Co-Founding the Vera Project, a nationally recognized nonprofit, music-arts center run by and for youth.  He is a punk rocker with a degree from the University of Washington’s School of Architecture and Urban Planning.  He is married to a beautiful and talented artist and they have identical twin boys.  They ride scooters around town a lot.
